Ryan Special Engineering Inspections is an IAS-Accredited Special Inspection Agency.  We are certified to perform all architectural and MEP inspections on any project that requires it.  We are registered as an NYC DOB Class 2 agency for structural inspections, which allows us to perform structural inspections on all interior renovations and many exterior projects as well.

Special Inspections are required for all construction projects filed on or after July 1, 2008.  Special Inspections may only be performed by Special Inspectors working for a NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) approved Special Inspection Agency.  Under these regulations implemented by the (DOB), Special Inspections must be conducted to verify that construction complies with the plans approved by the DOB.

Special Inspection Agencies must be hired directly by the building owner rather than the contractor or manufacturer. and all materials, equipment, and installation must be inspected to verify that work is being done in accordance with DOB-approved plans and specifications.
